What I liked

The vibe of this is very similar to the theatrical vehicles that Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg created for themselves as solo comedy artists in the beginning of their careers. This is a true character hour with a narrative arc and a deeply emotional ending that catches you off guard.

One of the funniest reoccurring moments of the show is when Aidan has a version of “50 Shades of Grey” playing on the airplane. Except in this version, the lead femme fatale has severe OCD. (Aidan admits to her and her father struggling with OCD in the beginning of the show)

I’m very excited to see where this show goes and where Aidan’s career takes off as an artist.

What I didn't like

Nothing.

My overall impression

I was blown away by this show. This was one of my favorite shows that I’ve seen at the fringe. Aidan created the perfect vehicle to showcase her talents as a comedic character actress and writer. As someone who travels a lot, I was hooked from the moment her “self” character begrudgingly has to move 32b (a middle back seat). The story is set in Aidan’s universe on an airplane with multiple characters all played by her…It’s chalk full of joke callbacks, hilarious storylines, and personal struggles interweaved throughout. After you’ve had full belly laughs for 55 minutes, the last 5 minutes take you by surprise as this personal and hilarious story comes to an emotional end in the most unexpected way. I won’t tell you what happens as that would spoil this satisfying and emotional surprise.
