The humor, the heart, the creative use of the minimal set design, and the overall structure of the show — which felt like it built and escalated on a beautiful trajectory to its inevitable gut punches.
What I didn't like
More seats in the theater. This show deserves a bigger audience!
My overall impression
I thought the humor, raw intensity, and creative use of a limited set converged into a seamless, highly emotional experience. Whether you identify as a mother or not, there’s something here for anyone that wants to better understand how to be honest about the hardest parts of our lives and those of us that constantly use humor as our shield against the harsh realities of the world. The audience participation elements were also a big plus — don’t be afraid to jump in!
(SIDENOTE: I heard they REALLY need tickets sales for the matinee on 6/22, so please go to that one if you’re able!)
