Characterization and the initial point of lore for the play (the magic show from 2001)

What I didn't like

I would be interested to see more of the view of the family. it felt touched on enough that I got a suggestion of Alan’s view of his family but esp his relationship with his dad would be interesting to explore more. But I’m also v aware that the family was not the thesis of the show in any way, but a mechanism for getting to the point

Joyous and hilarious with a dash of dad jokes
