The stripped down nature – very little props, set and wardrobe changes – was a great choice. Since the material is heavy, the lightness of the set and production gave it a great balance.
What I didn't like
I would love to see images alongside the storytelling. Though I love this stripped down version as is, I found myself wanting to see Tabatha as a young girl in photos as she described these core memories from her childhood.
My overall impression
Such an amazing show! Tabatha’s performance was inviting, vulnerable, brave and delightfully comedic. It’s like an intimate peek inside someone’s brain as they give you a tour of their experiences, opening themselves up for us to learn and grow. It’s not preachy but it did feel spiritual – a very multi-layered show with space to laugh, cry, grit your teeth in anger and then repeat all the steps again and again. Can’t wait to see how this develops!
