Despite the obviously raunchy subject matter, Daniel finds a way to make this show deeply personal and touching (no pun intended) through its heartfelt storyline. I found myself relating to Daniel’s emotional journey way more than I initially expected to.

My overall impression
Daniel Shar might be the next Nathan Fielder. Among the many storytelling shows in this year’s festival, “Near Sex For Work” stands out as one man’s honest and hilarious retelling of his misadventures in the sex and porn industries. Thoughtfully and tastefully presented, this show will leave you impressed by Daniel’s sharp comedic skills, his long-term commitment to his craft, and how much he has gotten away with over the years. I wouldn’t be surprised if this show kicks off Daniel’s own cult following. Go see this show to see why!
