What I liked
This was the most effective use of multimedia that I have seen in a solo show in a long while. The clips added tons of credibility and humor.
What I didn't like
This is so dumb, but I was sad when you stopped using the vibrator microphone 😂. And then I started fixating on what it meant or symbolized that you switched mics. Probably more an issue with me overthinking than the show. It was totally brilliant!
My overall impression
Near Sex for Work is a charming flurry of surprise after surprise as you uncover Daniel Shar’s incredible life on the fringes of the porn industry. Every moment of the story was easy to watch and the jokes perfectly stuck the landing in a story that is startlingly touching. I left the show with my mind blown and my heart full.
