I love how honest and funny Beth is. I laughed, I cried, and ultimately walked away feeling hopeful. I was particularly inspired by Beth’s authenticity and ability to speak to her experiences in a way that spoke to a universal experience.
What I didn't like
I thought the performance was amazing, and I hope it one day becomes a Netflix special. The only feedback I would give is that I could tell Beth was a little nervous. Her presence, writing, and humor are fantastic; I would say to be confident in that and lean into it.
My overall impression
Beth’s performance was personal, raw, and funny. It led the audience through her struggles with bipolar disorder and the lack of adequate solutions provided by the current healthcare system. The overall throughline of the performance was the consequences of mental health struggles, how we connect through the pain and differing experiences, and what we show/tell the world.
