Vangsness' one person show delivers transfixing vulnerability, neck-and-neck with waggish characters Kirsten snaps deftly in and out of: if you enjoy love, sex and human connection (I think that's most of us!), you will NOT want to miss Kirsten's magnetic journey. Kirsten's particular bent of whimsy, raw honesty, & delicious sensuality, while naming both the thrills and consequences of our beliefs about ourselves as humans, but particularly as women, when it comes to finding a romantic partner, is a necessary and true invitation to become that which we are seeking. And to be real and brave about our own needs and what we provide and how we might not always live all of those values all the time.
Kirsten's show is uncomfortably real in the...

Funny. Deep. Important. MUST SEE.
Fantastic show! Hilarious and incredibly vulnerable. I really appreciated how she captured the emotional complexity of dating as a woman, the push and pull, the confusion, the challenge of listening to your intuition while trying to feel worthy. It was honest, funny, and refreshingly real, and it gave voice to experiences that often feel isolating. Seeing that shared so openly, especially with men in the audience, felt powerful....

In Outdated, Kirsten Vangsness delivers a one-woman tour de force that’s part dating guide, part magical realism memoir, and wholly unforgettable. Framed as a fringe show for your average insecure, super fantastic, bi, queer, demisexual, femme creative with a disorganized attachment style, Outdated is vulnerable, theatrical, and radically honest.
Vangsness weaves voice memos, app encounters, and dating experiments into a spellbinding narrative that manages to be both deeply personal and wildly relatable. Her shape-shifting between characters is seamless—funny, tragic, raw—and she breaks the fourth wall not as a gimmick, but as a gesture of care. After recounting a story of assault, she pauses, looks out, and checks in: “You’re okay. I’m o...

Brilliant, transformative, laugh-out-loud-funny, will bring you to tears even as you guffaw through your own saltwater. Kirsten is a masterful writer, a fluid performer, drawing you in to her strength and vulnerability in equal measure. A tour-de-force that would be completely at home on Broadway. Well-written, beautifully produced, peerlessly performed. Brava....

This play was authentic, raw, hilarious and heartbreaking all at the same time. It's honest storytelling. Period. The vulnerability and the let it all "out" was so refreshing and impactful. Talked about it in the bathroom with another audience member. It's so relevant and necessary for any female or male or all humans for that matter who find themselves in this dating game that we have been lured into. It's very reflective of the times in regards to how we "search" for love and connection outside of ourselves and the risks that come with that....
