Kirsten really showcases her acting genius in this piece. She turns from making the audience cry, to connect, to cringe, to laugh (and then feel mildly guilty for laughing so soon) on a dime. She weaves a magic world with a black-box, her words and her charms.
Kirsten’s raw, authentic, “yes I will go there” writing style is so delightful and must also get its due adulation. – it brings magic and the divine to dating, and transforms it into a soul-searching hero’s journey that would have impressed Joseph Campbell.
What I didn't like
I would have gladly taken in an additional 20-30 minutes, but alas, Fringe!
My overall impression
Outdated is a beautiful mix of deeply imaginative magic realism and unadorned, raw vulnerability.
Do not let yourself miss this one!
