The performances themselves were strong, particularly Cindy’s. Her character work was compelling; she led the show with confidence and boldness. Nathan, portraying both the father and therapist, stood out vocally. His voice was resonant and emotionally expressive. Together, he and Cindy shared a beautiful dynamic and harmony that made the piece feel authentic and brought the heart of the show out.
What I didn't like
While I didn’t mind the minimalist, cabaret-style staging with risers and scripts, I do wonder if a different selection of songs might have helped clarify the narrative more effectively in this format. The microphones, in particular, need attention because most of the women’s voices were difficult to hear, which took away from what were likely strong performances.
My overall impression
The show was undeniably fun and engaging, with catchy music that stayed with me even after the performance. However, some technical challenges—particularly with sound—made it difficult to hear many of the vocalists clearly, which unfortunately impacted the storytelling. The narrative itself felt somewhat hard to follow, possibly due to the abbreviated format, and left me questioning whether this was a story that needs to be told or if more of the songs might have brought the full arc into sharper focus.
