I loved the physicality and the final realization and acceptance of self.
What I didn't like
Much more marketing as this performance is a must see.
My overall impression
As a mom, I thought I knew my son. But watching Vampire vs. Autism at the Hollywood Fringe Festival showed me layers of Taylor I’ve never seen so fully expressed—through movement, stillness, vulnerability, and raw creative power.
This one-man physical theatre piece is stunning. It’s not just a performance—it’s a lived experience unfolding right in front of you. The vampire metaphor is clever and cutting, capturing what it feels like to move through the world with autism: the hunger to connect, the effort it takes to mask, the aching awareness of always feeling… other.
Taylor doesn’t use words the way most performers do—he uses his whole body, his breath, his silence. And somehow, that says more. The audience laughed, leaned in, and I wiped tears. I sat there in awe—not just as his mother, but as someone witnessing a work of art that needs to be seen.
If you’ve ever loved someone who sees the world differently, go. This show isn’t about autism awareness—it’s about autism understanding. And it’s beautiful.
