The show is basically divided into 3 sections, the final of which was my favorite. I love how this final section had big laughs paired with uplifting discoveries. The final message of self love and closure was an absolute surprise delight. The use of music in this final section also really elevated the experience.
What I didn't like
Right now the 3 sections of the story feel tonally very different from each other. I’m torn because I simultaneously love the variety and also wonder if there are opportunities to blend them together a bit more.
My overall impression
The Funeral Show has a truly hilarious premise with a lovely balance of sarcasm and heart. There is a lot of audience interaction without ever feeling intimidating and Elena’s performance is sincere and heartwarming. I had a great time sitting back and relaxing as the chaos ensued.
