"Demystifying Magic" is a unique one-man show mixing drama, comedy and magic all wonderfully executed by Bob Gebert. The tricks are great fun to watch (and impossible to figure out), and the story of the main character will stay with you long after you leave the theatre. I highly recommend this show.... full review

Demystifying magic captured my attention in a way I wasn't expecting. From the first moment it drew me in.The way the characters are portrayed, I completely forgot that this was all being done by one guy! I am not exactly a magic enthusiast so I was hesitant to check it out. I was more than impressed and when it was over I felt it was too soon. I am actually going back next week to bring some of my friends because this is a must see!... full review

This show is both sensitive and dynamic. The portrayal of the character in different stages of his life is insightful and full of life. The illusions are the type that involve you as if he was performing them just for you. I highly recommend it!... full review

Incredibly seamless weaving of story and magic. Bob keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering how the next part of his story is going to be told. He convincingly draws you into his coming-of-age and his devotion to his beloved, with a love that could not be derailed, no matter how powerful the outside force.... full review

Bob is a great magician. Bob is a great actor. This is a great show. I went into this thinking it was going to be a straight magic show. I was very wrong. This is a one mane show, a play about love, loss, family and the struggle of following dreams and finding yourself. The magic was fantastic and very fooling but this show is so much more than just a magic show. Bob had me from the moment I saw the stage. The posters along the back were eye catching and enticing. The character Bob plays is warm, funny and as an audience member I not only loved him but genuinely had compassion for him. By the end of the show when he was performing his last trick the whole theater was hanging on his every word full of emotion. This is such a great show. A mus... full review

Bob Gebert gives a fine performance in the role of a magician attempting the fill the very large and polished shoes of his magician-father. Obviously an accomplished magician, with a great bed-side manner toward the audience, Gebert portrays Richard Ryder, a tired-yet-charming 80-something-year-old who reels in the years of his up-and-down career in show business. The tricks themselves are amazing, but what stitches the arc of show together are the many heart-felt recollections of a life lived fully, and nobly. In this one-man show, Ryder's muse, his wife, has passed away -- so many of the remembrances are tinged with a sadness that is in stark contrast to the magician's usual up-beat and cool manner. All this serves to humaniz... full review
