Carlita is at a stage in her life where she knows she’s not being as happy as she could be, and it has nothing to do with her love life, family, friends, or work opportunities. She’s finally living the dream she’s fought to achieve for most of her life, but her mind, her inner child, or whoever protects her inner child, won’t let her find peace. Her daily life is filled with doubts, fears, and worst-case scenarios of what lies ahead, even though none of this is happening or has any real foundation. Carlita reaches a point of desperation where she tries to free herself from these voices, but realizes that she will need to search the depths of her memory to understand her past selves, figure out what happened, and find a way to forgive herself and those who hurt her, so that she can enjoy her present without it being shadowed by her past.
