I love it when shows create (or lean into) natural expectations and then obliterate them, and this show does that in spades. Diana has an incredibly rich story to share, and the literal ‘journey’ device she uses to drive the narrative is exceptionally clever. Pair that with the fact that she is such a natural and likable narrator and you’ve got a really enjoyable evening at the theatre!
What I didn't like
This whole show worked for me. A talented performer sharing an intensely personal, yet relatable story is a recipe for success. Bravo!
My overall impression
Diana is a fantastic storyteller, and boy does she have a story to share. She shatters expectations and takes the audience on a literal journey around the world, hitting all the highs and lows of living life as an “other” (in many different capacities) along the way. An expertly crafted performance!
