My favorite kind of theatre: a great script and great actors. The was no set to speak of and none needed. The costumes were (mostly) all black, with clever markings to show which side the character was on. While spectacle is fun, this is the kind of theatre I prefer—bare bones and brilliant performances.
What I didn't like
The fight scenes were a little lame. But the smart choice was having the dead immediately exit.
My overall impression
Extremely well acted and fast paced, EDWARDIII is a terrific show. With lots of humor many Shakespeare performers just don’t get. The Porters get it.
