The show was full of intention and vitality! It moved, leaving no moment dull, no minute wasted. The director made great use of the space, with staging that was thoughtful, and fight scenes that were dynamic! The lighting design was gorgeously used, which can be hard to do with the Fringe limitations of a shared rep plot, but there was no sign of that here. The actors all delivered! Each one was fully present and dug deep into their respective role and to the material. Everyone was compelling and so refined. The adaptation shaped this story into something of intrigue and excitement, making for some high drama, balanced by quieter moment (I’m still thinking about the Countess and her father). I was invested. A sincere bravo to all!
What I didn't like
I didn’t see any bees or spiders… ;-)
My overall impression
Skillfully directed, featuring a strong cast, elegant sword work, and a smart, effective cut of a challenging script—all coming together to create a compelling and thoroughly engaging production.
