Liz's creation, "Take Me to the Poorhouse" was brilliantly executed at every level. Her creation was so full of pure talent and imbued with Life that it represented for me a rare work of artistry. She brought to life every character she portrayed in this story and we witnessed them as if seeing them through the eyes of the young protagonist. Many times throughout the piece, I laughed spontaneously and uncontrollably. It is brilliant and I can't wait to see it again.

Liz Femi's performance really impressed me in this piece because it was her ability to create the imaginary world that created the scope of the show. It was amazing to me how she transformed and with such specificity carried out the different scenarios. At the very end of the play, I wasn't quite sure where we were left and found myself wondering what it all had come to after the twist (averting spoiler here). Otherwise, completely mesmerizing. ...

Liz Femi's infectious energy as an 8-year-old version of herself drives this brilliantly written and performed play. Her innocent observations are a fresh perspective on economic woes, love and growing up in Africa. But she is never precious, and the serious underlying meanings are all subtly conveyed while humor, song and marvelous character work ferry us speedily along. Highly recommended. ...
