What I liked
The writing is sharp and the performances are committed, with a sense of raw energy that feels distinctly “fringe.” The production makes clever use of its space, and the central concept is executed with genuine conviction. There’s a fearlessness to the work that’s genuinely exciting to watch.
What I didn't like
The pacing in the middle section drags slightly, and a tighter edit of the runtime would help sustain the momentum built in the opening. A bit more clarity in the narrative arc would make the emotional payoff land even harder.
My overall impression
THE TROLL is a bold and imaginative piece of fringe theatre — inventive in its storytelling and surprisingly resonant. A memorable experience that lingers well after the curtain falls.
