I liked the back and forth with the audience. It makes you lean in more. When it switched to a narrative, we were already paying full attention. That’s not something that can be taught, so bravo for that.
What I didn't like
Honestly, the staging. I don’t know that I needed her to move around as much. Being in the back of the stage, didn’t help move the story forward at all. I also wish we got a bit of how her college experienced shaped her. It felt like we skipped a couple of steps.
My overall impression
The Troll is a beautiful show. And one that is so relatable.
