The acting was amazing. No one missed a beat. The lighting, sound and movement were all beautiful.
What I didn't like
Very little. I think the scene where Damian’s mum and the other guy are eating together was slightly confusing, because in the next scene she’s Damian’s mum. Rethinking that moment possibly? If it’s meant to fill in for a costume change. Making that moment shorter if possible and refitting it with something a little less confusing.
The only other thought was adding a little piece of red gel or something to the fake cigs in the scene with the two men smoking, or getting ones that are red vs a white light. This moment was awesome, unexpected, cinematic, and really well done. But just to make it super obvious they’re smoking, could make the little lights we see look a little more real. Other than that, I thought it was perfect!
My overall impression
“Pure Woman” was brilliant. From start to finish, the play captivates with present and electrifying performances, beautiful choreography, and original music. The entire cast felt in-sync, executing a distinct and powerful vision.
