I like that this show came out of a desire from the students to both process the feelings around suicide and gun violence as well as offer their own perspective about what it means to feel like you fit or don’t fit. It’s easy for adults to see that drive for acceptance as unimportant now that we have already moved through it.
What I didn't like
Even more comedic moments would offer much needed relief for the audience.
My overall impression
Excellent handling of the subject matter. Kids performed well. The Greek theatre style works to present the heavy themes in an almost detached way. The minimalist stage and costumes feel more like high schoolers dealing with life rather than a play.
