My overall impression
Just saw Erabus and the Fall of Sparrows — wow.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in, but this play completely pulled me in. It’s one of those shows that feels more like a dream than a straightforward story — kind of poetic, a little mysterious, and really beautiful in a strange, sad way.
the way it’s told is super creative. There are these sparrows that come and go and they seem to represent pieces of memory or maybe innocence? I’m still thinking about it, which I think is kind of the point.
The acting was really strong. The main characters have a sort of quiet intensity and you could feel the weight of everything that they were going through. The chorus represents a sort of haunting truth about their past.
If you’re into plays that are more about emotion and mood than straightforward plot, I think you’d love this. It’s not a light show, but it’s powerful. Definitely something I’ll be thinking about for a while.
