it wasn’t entirely dark and there were some funny moments. at first i was scared to laugh, but at some moments, it really is laugh out loud funny! don’t let the dark topic matter stop you from chuckling at clever quips.
the variety in perspectives. it shows perspectives on the same set of issues from parents, teachers, and of course, students. it really gave me empathy for what my parents go through, and if you’re a parent, it’ll give you a glimpse into the lives of your kid.
it didn’t shy away from talking about what really mattered.
What I didn't like
costumes i guess. really struggling to find a problem i have with this show, it is SO MINDBLOWINGLY good. but i think characters could be a little more differentiated by the pants and shoes they wear, since the shirts are all the same.
My overall impression
i’m a junior in high school and i went to see this show not expecting much… i was BLOWNAWAY!! the cast is so talented and did such a great job executing such dark material. the material really blew me away too. it’s such a relevant, impactful commentary on the never ending cycle of political disagreements over guns and it also brings such awareness to suicide, domestic violence, bullying, anxiety and depression, and other relevant topics that teens face today. regardless of who you are as an audience member, you will walk away from this play with such profound reflections and you will never ever forget it. if you are a theater lover, go. if you a parent, go. if you are a student, go. i will recommend erabus to anyone and everyone! 10/10!
