When an audience member left because she did not like the content of the show, I thought the host did a good job of recovering and going on with the show without being too ruffled. It led to the audience being more on his side.
What I didn't like
I think it is telling that this is a show with many dates and a “sold out” run but there have been only three reviews besides mine. Unintended or not, the host’s interactions with the audience and the audience participants felt impatient and a tad hostile. Could have some of the audience participants been better? For sure! But it is the host’s job to roll with the punches and make it work.
My overall impression
An uneven show throughout – I am not leaving a review to write cheap shots, but to give honest and hopefully helpful constructive criticism. The show was billed as a magic show but there were only four magic tricks, and one of them didn’t work. A lot of the show was a monologue about the host’s toxic relationship with his ex, which if I had known that from the beginning I might not have come. As a whole, the show generally felt flat – the jokes, the magic, the audience interaction.
