I loved the relationship between the characters and the willingness to poke fun of the situation. As someone who has recently had to go through a dead parent’s things (thankfully not turning out exactly how it does in this show) with two siblings…I found myself saying “there’s me” and “there’s the other ones” or “oh, that’s familiar” the entire time. I was totally pulled in and the utter commitment of the actors was fantastic.
What I didn't like
Honestly, nothing outside of some difference preferences on how the main twist was revealed in dialogue but that’s just my writing style. I am so happy I found time to see this show and it was the catharsis I needed all the way to the end. Now I’ll carry this energy through finishing our own estate <3
My overall impression
There is something about death that makes each of us the best and worst versions of ourselves. There is also something eerie, funny, sad, and absurd about cleaning out your parent’s belongings when they are finally gone. This show had me crying, laughing, and spooked thanks to the beautiful performances of the two performers, the minimal but immersive set, and the use of multimedia. Every detail was important and paid off in the end.
