This show had such heart, such a personal voice, and also such detail. I loved the specificity Marissa put into each portion of the show, especially the anecdotes such as the one about “Twig” (you know if you saw the show!) and I like how she refers back to these anecdotes later in the show. I also appreciated the explanation of different types of OCD and the use of video to help convey important messages. The show was extremely well crafted and genuine, and left me feeling a sense of peace and positivity that I think we all need right now.
What I didn't like
My overall impression
A Peacock in the Rubble was a poignant, sweet and inspirational show that left me feeling refreshed, a little sad, but most of all hopeful. Marissa is a brilliant storyteller and performer with a difficult yet beautiful story that I can’t imagine being told any better.
