Aside from how it made me feel – it was accented by how well it was staged and crafted! This piece was so cleverly performed and structured: all the media elements were incorporated with the right amount of finesse.

My overall impression
I had the great privilege of seeing Marissa’s show at preview this weekend and wow!! WOW! To me, this is what Fringe is all about. I laughed and genuinely cried, but more than anything I felt a sense of catharsis despite the fact that I haven’t endured the things that Marissa so poignantly articulates in her piece. I felt it because hearing her – walking with her through her journeyman’s tale – evoked a sense of empathy for her story as well as for my own. Good tales like these take you outside your body so you can look inside yourself. I walked away feeling connected, to her, to others in the theater, to the madness and beauty of life! And it was a great feeling. Aside from how it made me feel – it was accented by how well it was staged and crafted! This piece was so cleverly performed and structured: all the media elements were incorporated with the right amount of finesse. I loved it. My friend and I discussed every tidbit our entire ride home. Give her all the awards!
