Peacock in the Rubble is an excellently-crafted, raw, emotionally-charged piece; especially moving with its relevance to the recent fires and Marissa's firsthand experience of loss in Altadena and how it relates to her story of growth and identity. Marissa takes us on a tear-jerking journey through her OCD and the complicated realities of living with it as a child and adult. Her charm, hope and vulnerability give the narration of such a personal story even more intrigue. She's magnetic as a performer, teacher and guide. Highly recommend! You'll learn something, feel something, and witness how to find hope in rubble. ...

Marissa is freaking delight to watch and weaves a tale full lots of laughs and lots of heart. I was blown away by her bravery and honesty while having complete command over the audience. She was telling a hard story but she does it with such mastery that I knew we were in safe hands ...

One of the strongest solo shows I've seen in a while. Marissa's warm, focused energy welcomes the audience with open arms all while telling a deeply personal story. As a fellow Eaton Fire victim (whose story is not dissimilar to Marissa's), this show was a balm for my heart. I wept for the town I've lost, but came out of the show feeling like a part of something bigger: a community. I don't know Marissa well (yet!), but I'm so very proud of her and this fantastic show. ...

I had the great privilege of seeing Marissa’s show at preview this weekend and wow!! WOW! To me, this is what Fringe is all about. I laughed and genuinely cried, but more than anything I felt a sense of catharsis despite the fact that I haven’t endured the things that Marissa so poignantly articulates in her piece. I felt it because hearing her - walking with her through her journeyman’s tale - evoked a sense of empathy for her story as well as for my own. Good tales like these take you outside your body so you can look inside yourself. I walked away feeling connected, to her, to others in the theater, to the madness and beauty of life! And it was a great feeling. Aside from how it made me feel - it was accented by how well it was staged and...

Insightful, moving, and fun despite the complexity of the topic. I think that although this is about one facet of mental health, many people can find a way to relate to the feelings captured and playfully told in the show. Marissa delivers a complete story arc that challenges and inspires....

A wonderful exploration into OCD by an incredibly brave artist. Marissa is funny, vulnerable, and inclusive making the subject matter accessible to everyone by humanizing an often stigmatized condition. It’s light hearted tone leaves you feeling hopeful and seen, regardless of whether or not you have a mental illness. ...
