An intimate show, like getting a treat filled with heart.
What I didn't like
I wish Fringe could have supported this out of town artist in getting an audience. I know it’s Fringe, but is there a last minute papering option to pack a house? So rare to see artists talking about undocumented status and would have been incredible for an LA audience to witness this through the perspective of an Asian immigrant.
My overall impression
This felt like the stories we never get to see. A queer Filipinx artist sharing their stoy of family and generational legacy. Gorgeous video, a story that can’t be replicated by any other artist (I mean, who can claim to have a Philippines movie star mother?) Gorgeous singing and live music. It was a story about generation and place and origins and landings.
