The amount of STUFF onstage is simply astounding for a Fringe show, including a couple of props that must be an absolute pain in the ass to set up every time. Mallie leaves it all out there, and I mean that literally with all of the stuff, but also dredging up every piece of herself in the pursuit of art and entertainment.
Okay. Let’s talk about that ending. I’m not going to spoil anything, but suffice to say, the way several elements join together creates an astoundingly powerful series of moments that have stuck with me in the days since seeing it. It helps that a particular audience participation bit went so well that it feels like I witnessed a very special and unique moment.
What I didn't like
i felt like i ran a marathon just watching Mallie jesus christ
My overall impression
An unrelenting barrage of manic energy, wacky hijinks, heart-rending personal stories, and very clever use of set and props, Mallie uses James Cameron’s Titanic as a vehicle for much laughter and several gut-punches.
