Really enjoyed the sense of play, the spot on Kate Winslet voice, the audience involvement, and the feel of the whole show reflecting tossing waves in the open ocean – moments of calm, then moments of chaos. It was relatable, moving, surprising, and full of delight. The simple solves like re-taping the titanic to the back wall to make it “sink”, the hats the hats the hats, the spectacle of an epic adventure married with the internal thoughts of a teenager all came together in a really satisfying way. It’s exactly the kind of show I’d hope to discover at fringe.
What I didn't like
The seating was tough, which is not the performers fault at all – but I and others wanted to stand for the performance because some sight lines were difficult.
My overall impression
The parallel mapped out between the film’s story and journal entries was inspiring, specific and uniquely individual.
