I loved Mallie’s performance, how her childhood and teenage journal entries were stitched into the narrative, and how the iceberg in the Titanic turned out to be such a powerful metaphor by the end of the show. I enjoyed the way in which the play involved the audience from start to finish, and of course, the magic show!
What I didn't like
There were a couple of times I couldn’t remember who certain characters were as it’s been a while since I’ve watched Titanic. But even so, the revisits of the most iconic scenes with Jack and Rose had me in splits.
My overall impression
I was blown away by the sheer amount of energy packed into 90 minutes of this delightful play but what caught me off guard even more was the amount of heart and emotional honesty that was woven into this hilarious parody of the Titanic. This was one of the most interactive plays I’ve watched and much of its success can be attributed to Mallie McCown’s tremendous stage presence and comic timing.
