What I liked
MALLIE’S KATE WINSLET IMPRESSION WAS AMAZING. But the parts I liked most were the journal entries. I appreciated the thematic elements of Titanic being connected to her personal life, which helped frame the show and her personal story.
What I didn't like
I think this show should be shaved down to a razor-sharp 60 minutes. The Titanic scenes are fun, but the meat of the show is the journal entries. I’d love to see a 60-minute version where some Titanic scenes are removed or shortened to help propel the journal entries and the overall flow of the show. I also think in a future iteration, the poster or tagline could allude more to this being about Mallie’s life (not just literally doing Titanic as a one-woman show, because this was more poignant than just doing Titanic).
From the poster, I expected only Titanic and no personal connection, even though now I see the journal on the cover, so maybe that was not a shared experience from other audience members.

Impressive! Fun! Sad (when it’s supposed to be sad and pull on the heart strings)! Mallie is a gifted actor and shares that gift with all of us in this whirlwind of a show.
