I appreciate the way he shares his personal stories, especially when discussing the characters from his childhood—his family, friends, teachers, and parents. He effectively conveys his emotions and expresses the feelings he experienced from those around him. And this is so beautiful to see
What I didn't like
It was so short! I’m glad I hadn’t read the book yet when I saw it here in Hollywood on June 7th, but I wish it could be longer!
My overall impression
I love it! It’s incredibly sensitive and brave to revisit our childhood memories. I’m glad Michael had this idea and that his wife, Cynthia, supported him in pursuing it. Michael shared stories from his life in a way that allowed us to connect with him, as well as with our own memories of experiences we’ve had with our families and parents that have marked us forever. It’s a very delicate and touching work!
