What I liked
Oh my goodness I loved it all! The balloon, costumes, ballet, projections, sound and lighting and Marcel’s connection with the audience. I loved the use of audience members to cast parts of Chaplin’s life (and that he pulled my son on stage). He somehow managed to make everyone up there with him feel comfortable and like part of a well rehearsed acting troupe – only the very best clowns have that skill. I also loved the subject matter. I learned so much about Chaplin’s life. And I loved how relevant and poignant Marcel’s use of The Great Dictator’s final speech was today.

My overall impression
WOW. This was pure joy and is set to be best of the Fringe. Go and see this show! I took the kids (5 & 7) and they loved it as much as me. Marcel is a shapeshifter and a tour de force. This was a masterclass in clown.
