Carmella Diaz-Lolar carries the show like a star. She’s relatable, fun, and the true hero that we root for. You’ll see so much of yourself in her if time worked in thankless customer service jobs. She was incredible.
Perhaps the scene-stealer of the show is Marla Lizbeth Perez! She fluctuates between playing a lovable character one minute and an egregious character the next. Like Carmella, she is truly radiant onstage- funny, charming, terrifying- an all around wonder to watch. I can’t wait to see what these 2 actresses do next.
This leads me to Ra’Shawn Durell, the writer/director behind this project. He’s clearly served before. His vision and style is refreshing and inventive. He’s a terrific actor. Like Marla, he easily manages to steal his scenes as he floats between the frustrated yet relatable business owner to petty insensitive and cruel manager. This show provides insight to the difficulty of the servicing industry and its dangerous underbelly of the mistreatment of servers. The beautiful metaphors of the restaurant “killing” it’s servers, running them into the ground from its petty, privileged and unlikable “guests” to the dismissive managers, to the selfish and vindictive nature of other servers we work with. SEETHISSHOW!

My overall impression
This show is so much fun!! This show is scream meets the bear (kinda). This show is the ultimate love letters to servers everywhere and the hardships they face. It’s well written and was such a joy to watch. If you’re a horror fan or a server (both in my case) this one is definitely for you.
