What I liked

The blocking was impressive and despite a large cast, I felt everyone’s moments were paces well enough that I got to know and like each character before their eventual fate. While I should have figured out who the killer was by the end using simple deduction, I still was surprised by the reveal (or reveals, without giving away too much). The first appearance of the killer in the midst of the chaos was actually pretty creepy! The happy birthday moments were a fun touch.

What I didn't like

Every act ran a bit too long; the opening and closing scenes should have been half the length. And the overall plot seemed to have repetitive scenes that could have been combined – this sort of show feels like 45 minutes would be a perfect length. Cast was fantastic, but the volume level of voices seemed all over the place… but this was a preview, so I imagine this is something that will be worked on through further shows.

And considering how much killing happens, I would have like for there to have been an effort to create better effects to make them seem more realistic, even if over the top (like the guts or severed head moments) – using retractable blades, blackout moments while spraying the audience with water, etc.

My overall impression

A fun, fresh take for a slasher movie inspired show in an original setting (the backrooms of a restaurant), anyone who has ever worked in the food service industry will identify with the frustrations and motivations of the characters… including those that keep working in spite of the tragic circumstances around them.
