What I liked

The story was timely and well-written, the direction was top notch, and the actors were all incredible—specifically, their physicality, chemistry with one another, ability to act and sing, and their full embodiment of their characters. Incredible job by this group!

What I didn't like

I’d love to see the play in a bigger space so there could be a larger audience!

My overall impression

“Harbor City Tonight!” was a genre-bending, thought-provoking, energetic good time that I consider a must see for the fringe! The actors all had incredible presence, each bringing a “vibe” (to quote the play :)) and physicality to the roles that truly brought them to life. The story itself delves into timely themes and issues — fascism and seeking joy amidst chaos — in such a fresh way, especially with Cindy’s narration. The strength of the direction really shone through as well; though there were usually only a few people per scene and limited props, the stage always felt so full from the movement. The story immediately sweeps you up and then keeps up the action and energy for the duration of the play. We couldn’t believe it had been 90 minutes when they took their bows! This is def one to check out!!!
