What I liked
This is exactly what Fringe is all about. Stories and perspectives you wouldn’t hear of but for a Fringe stage. I’m so grateful to Charlene for creating this show and for turning decades of pain, discomfort, and unsolicited comments into something we can all learn from (as we’re entertained).
Also the Ray Charles almost took me clean out, hilarious.
And the show art is so so good! Kudos to JW for their illustration.
What I didn't like
I was confused by the song choice at the end because it talks about knowing enough to know you don’t know it all but the show talks about bodily autonomy and knowing your body and what is right for you despite what others are saying. There are other lyrics that might speak to the latter point that didn’t stick to my brain the way the opening of the song did so feel free to take this feedback with all the grains of Namibian salt you’d like!
My overall impression
A heartfelt, entertaining, and moving one woman show about a topic underdiscussed and underresearched.
