The only part where I got a bit lost was the section on the endocannabinoid system – the content was fascinating, but (and I’m not sure how feasible this is) I would’ve loved to get to hear it with less of a script, and more explained in your own funny and compelling manner like how the fibroids were!
My overall impression
Charlene is a fabulous performer, funny and highly compelling to listen to. It takes a particularly capable voice to discuss pregnancy in such a thoughtful way in this political climate, but she’s the perfect guide to the topic. She also shared some interesting background on the endocannabinoid system as relates to fibroids, but I don’t really know enough about the topic to comment myself! I’m envious of her singing talent and appreciated the educational and thoughtful way she grapples with issues of reproductive freedom, misogynoir, medical mistreatment, and cannabis use. Also she brings some really poignant photos with her, not to mention the poster.
