Mr. Chahinian did a memorable job of dissecting and bringing laughter and levity to a specific stream of human frailties and lack of mainstream sensibilities regarding some of the endemic challenges of cross-racial parenting. Mr Chahinian’s personal story is further enriched by his bold accounting of the particular obstacles and opinions a gay parent or couple routinely face during the process of adopting a child in the United States of America.
What I didn't like
What can possibly be improved about a man bearing his soul on stage? The show is very much worth seeing!
My overall impression
BESTDADNEVER is a delightful heartfelt nuanced exposé of the internal dialogues experienced by gay parents navigating the mostly straight world of child rearing. Moreover, the show is a testimony to widely held biases and refractions of objective truth all people experience to a greater or lesser degree. I would highly recommend BESTDADNEVER to anyone interested in the more sublime aspects of gay parenting, trans-racial parenting, or for that matter parenting in general.
