What I didn't like
Placone was not living this story on stage. There was a distance from Ron and his character that was palpable. I am comparing him to SKG, so there is that.
Perhaps Placone was too focused on making light of the dark comedy, which is a lot of pressure given the rousing screenplay he penned.
I am excitedly anticipating what is coming more from Ron Placone and Sara Kay Godot. They carry everything within them to shaken the world awake.
My overall impression
Depths of darkness stirred and shaken, feel realities unspoken
Sara Kay Godot is not performing. The stage is set for what living through a life or death circumstance is when thrusted upon her. SKG isn’t showing you, she is sharing with you an experience that is unfortunately all too real for many Americans and health issues.
Ron Palcone composes a symphony of reality contained in less than an hour. Every moment shines light on the manifestations of cold and calculated measurements of life.
Oh, but Placone weaves in quick-witted twists that ensue smirks, chortles, belly laughter and smiles. Helps to deliver the gut-wrenching message of which SKG intimately invites you to experience with her.
What tied this beautifully; an awareness of what truly matters, even in depths of darkness.
