Glad I slept on it before I reviewed - this slice of life hit way way deeper than I expected! Smartly written, grounded but crackling performances. The easy reproire w/ the leads almost mask the disillusion, discontent, frustration that rumbles beneath the surface. Something deeply stupid/sad/absurd about having to stay married for health insurance. So much so that it almost felt 'reasonable' for Neil to make the decision he made. What?? That's' insane, but so is not having universal healthcare, so I kinda get this. Terrific job, team! ... full review

Termination Fee really pulled me in. It kept me guessing the whole way through. I laughed a lot, but it also hit some tough, uncomfortable truths about how messed up the health care system is in this country. It definitely made my blood boil at times. Thankfully, it found its way to a hopeful ending, which was a relief. The writing and direction by Ron Placone and Sara Kay Godot kept everything moving and grounded.
