What I liked
James Tison gives a perfect performance. Their Jessie is adorable, lovable, nuanced, well crafted, and HILARIOUS!! The team of ZanFagna, Gnosis, Tison, and the whole cast and creative team have given us stellar writing, fast and furious direction, and performances that jump off the stage and land right in your lap. I’ve been waiting my whole life for an actor to give me multiple line readings of the simple line of “Faggots!,” so thank you very much Joan Nelson. Huge shoutout to Sade Ayodele for giving us an absolutely hilarious characterization of every homo’s favorite Monica. Applause!!!

My overall impression
Eternal Flamer is camp at its highest elevation! Huge laughs, insane characters, and boundary pushing comedy that always felt like it was coming from the heart. I miss gay shows that aren’t afraid to fuck around with taboo topics and this show charges forward unapologetically. With puns and references sprinkled throughout, this show is exciting, invigorating, and incredibly entertaining!
