Show 1: In‘The Tell-Tale Heart’, we meet a madman, trying his hardest to convince us of his sanity, whilst explaining the meticulous details of a murder he committed. Then, in‘The Pit and the Pendulum’, we join a prisoner trying to escape the various torture devices of the Spanish Inquisition.
Show 2: Arguably Poe’s darkest tale, The Black Cat documents an alcoholic’s last confession on the eve of his death… A story not for the faint-hearted. Then, the poem that made Poe famous: The Raven. In the midnight hour, as an elderly man laments the loss of his love, an ominous visitor is heard tapping on his chamber door…
