Jasten King presents an evening of comedy theater in his first one-man show of standup & short film.

“I think everyone feels like a complete outsider sometimes, even amongst friends and our daily situations. I’m hoping to point the silliness in those kind of moments and in turn make everyone leave the show feeling more comfortable in their sad, sad little lives.”

OUT ON MY OWN is a collection of autobiographical short stories taking a witty look at living life a minority within the minorities. JASTEN KING has spent most of his performance work playing and traveling in punk bands to rather seedy nightclubs across the country for the past decade. In recent years, he’s moved on to alternative musical theater, writing and co-starring the the popular rock ‘n roll murder mystery, CHARLIE! The Death of Nancy Fullforce (nominated for Fringe “Best Musical” 2011; now in pre-production for a feature film) as well as hosting Hollywood’s only “boylesque” cabaret, HEADPHONE. Billed as “a butchy boylesque cabaret of music performances, intimate dance numbers & inappropriate short films.”

“I started HEADPHONE as a way to try out some improv and audience interaction. I can’t act to save my life, so just going out there with very little planned led to a constant inappropriate honesty, nervously falling out of my mouth, as well as interacting with the audience on the spot. I completely enjoyed it, so with this new show I want to take that to the next level, but this time wearing pants… maybe.”

OUT ON MY OWN previews this June at Cavern Club Theater for one night only, June 9th, before beginning a full run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. UK audiences can catch the show at London’s SoHo Theatre in August before joining the Edinburgh Festival later that same month.
