What I liked

Rain Perry is a genuinely empathetic and kind human being. The passion and urgency she brought to her performance was the driving force. She operated with a sense of “they need to know this”. As a person of color it felt very comforting to see a person who happens to be white, acknowledge and expose the racist system we live in. And she urges others like her to do the same. This will stay in my heart. The music was also very beautiful, and she has the ability to blend her singing and speaking voice so that they are seamless. The lyrics were raw; emotionally charged and to the point.

I loved how she showed the through-line from historical policies to today. She understood that to in order to make sense of our present we have to look at our past. She discussed redlining; she discussed the detainment of Japanese people; she found documents where it was policy that banks were only allowed to grant loans to people of Caucasian descent. She showed how this country others people. I can’t say enough good things about this show! GO SEE IT!!!

What I didn't like

More people should see this show! There were twelve of us at my performance! Ms.Perry should have and deserves a full house! Beautiful work!

My overall impression

An artist at work! This is someone who was called to speak about the injustices committed against those without privileges she has. Brave; bold; fearless and relentless in her pursuit of the truth. Iam so glad that I got to see this!
