What I liked
Rain Perry’s prodigious talent as a singer/songwriter and deeply authentic performance undid my heart, but also gave me hope. I’m inspired by her courage and honesty as she deals with such a fraught subject, one that many in our country are desperate to ignore and forget. The timing couldn’t be more urgent, and I hope it reaches many more audiences.
What I didn't like
I loved the songs so much I wanted even more of them.
My overall impression
This is a deeply personal and moving show that takes on the huge subject of our country’s racial legacy with grace, humor, storytelling, and most importantly, music.
