My overall impression
Jacquetta Szathmari delivered a beautifully personal account of a little girl who wants to be so much more than the choices in front of her. As the title implies, it’s a story of race, but it’s also a hilarious account of the consequences and rewards of being an independent and ambitious child. The performance is subtle and honest, with appropriately scattered impressions. Riotously funny.
